Please help me decide between the TTG 700 and the nuvi 350. I'm especially interested in feedback from anyone who has experience with both. Allow me to share my sad story.
I started looking for a PND with a wishlist and ended up with a TTG 700. I was very happy with it. Then I was in the store where I bought it, and there was a nuvi 350 on sale for less than my 700 cost. Not only that, but they offered to refund the full amount I paid for my 3 month old TTG.
Let's see, my old TTG for a new, more expensive PND and money back? One with wishlist features (WAAS, SiRF, pocket-sized, TTS) the TTG doesn't have? A no-brainer, right? Being quite intelligent, I bought the nuvi and decided to use them side-by-side and take back the one I didn't want. Now I can't decide which one to keep.
The nuvi is really pocket-sized so I can take it with me when I park. It locks immediately and I can mount it below the windshield and it still picks up satellites. Text-to-speech is great. Searching POIs by name instead of guessing catagories is wonderful. On the downside, it only allows one "via" and you can't save routes. The autozoom doesn't thrill me and I like the TTG map display better.
The TTG has many more features. I use the Itenerary feature all the time and save routes. The autozoom and map display are much better. You can add your own POI categories and POIs. It's much easier to use and you can customize everything. Unfortunately, satlock is iffy when mounted below the windshield, there's no TTS, and it won't fit in my pocket. As good as the autozoom is, you can't turn it off.
What was I thinking? Last week I was happy with what I had. Next week I won't be no matter what I choose.

Does the TTS on the 350 pronounce e.g. the A413 as "A four one three" or "A four hundred and thirteen" (apparently what the TT 910 does)? |

I don't know about any special deal but there are a couple of companies selling it at £384..........Handtec...............Savastore
I bought from Handtec and I know of a couple of others who did likewise. Good delivery, no problems so far and they 'price match'. |
