Hello again,
I recently purchased an i3 and am evry happy with it. But.....
When I took the unit out of the box, plugged it in, navigated somewhere, everything was fine, the unit ran fairly smoothly.
Now, I have updated the unit with 2.9 and everything else the updater would let me update. I have also added all the usual POI's (Tesco's, B&Q, Burger king etc etc) as well as speed camera database from here.
Now, the unit appears to freeze for a few seconds while navigating. I can approach a T-Junction outside my house, the unit will show me at 90 degrees to the road ahead. I turn out on to the road and travel down say 30 m and the unit still shows me back at the T-Junction. It then jumps to my location and goes back to normal.
There are no 'POi's' in my immediate area.
This does however get much worse when I am say approaching a speed camera.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Is it a matter of rolling back to 2.7 from 2.9?
Or is it POI related?
Thank you for your help. Other than this little glitch, I am evry happy with i3. It's my first GPS and I intend to keep it for a long time!
Please see the main thread on the 2.90 software, a brief precis is, some i3 units seem to affected more than others with the same symptoms that you are experiencing, mine for example does not exhibit the white-screen-of-death's that many people have reported, I believe Garmin's advice is to roll back to 2.70 if you suffering with problems on 2.90
