|
|
Hello
I have just purchased a 512mb card for my TomTom 500. The problem is TomTom does not recognise the 512mb sd card and it shows a red X.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?
Please help.
Regards |

Could we have a little more detail please. Like what you've done/tried to do, etc.
Any information, however slight, will help to get you up and running.;) _________________ Richard

Sorry about that.
Well, I have not done much.
I wanted to install some POI. The first thing I did was backed up my tomtom files from 256mb sd card to PC.
Then inserted my new 512mb sd card but somehow this sd card is not recognised.
That's all |

Have you copied the backup onto the new card? _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I don't know if this helps - or indeed makes any difference - but my new 1 Gb SD card arrived formatted as FAT16; I immediately re-formatted as FAT32. Dragging files/folders from PC to card (using a card reader) worked no problems.
With USB2 card readers so cheap (eg 7dayShop and many other retailers) 'manual' backup/restore is very easy and convenient |

Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
I formatted the 512mb sd card and then copied the backup files. Inserted the sd card into tomtom and this is when it gives you the removal sign and red x. |

Have you tried installing the Program, download V5.440 from TomTom, onto the blank SD Card and then just Copy/Paste the Map Folder?
Any added Voices, etc. can be sorted out once it is working. _________________ Richard
