I am looking to buy a Dell3x with GPS and am wondering how you update the maps on it? Do you need to buy something extra to do that or is it automatic?

Hi Claire, You normally upgrade Softwear, by visiting the makers web site and upload it onto your PDA, this is to to sort out any problems the original softwear had, sometimes it makes it worse, some people once they have upgraded, don't like the upgrade, and down grade again to the earlier version. Maps are different, when new maps are made, you are expected to buy the new maps, which are usually quite expensive, £100 plus. I bought ViaMitchelin, Version 3.1, after a while there was an upgrade to 3.2, which I uploaded, now there is a version 4 out, if I want that, I have to buy the new softwear. To be honest, unless you use a GPS for work or whatever, I don't think you need up to date maps, its not worth the expense to upgrade every time a new vertion comes out. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav
