I've just purchased an eTrex Legend Cx, and it's USB only. Actually, I've got no problems with the USB, it's great that there's a modern interface on a devices as sophisticated as this. If you're going to transfer maps to a 256Mb MicroSD, it's the only way to go.
After booting up the GPS and running the installers, I connected my eTrex, hoping to start to transfer my large collection of waypoints. Unfortunately Mapsource was telling me it couldn't find my unit.
Nada, Nothing, Zip.
So imagine my horror when I discovered (through Google, not the Garmin site) that no 64bit Windows x64 drivers have been released. 8O
Oh My. Garmin, you've really done it.
So, effectively I need to install an additional 32bit operating system on another partition just to satisfy the lack of 64bit drivers. Forget the fact that I'm a professional CAD designer that needs a highend system and highend OS. How many other people are in my position? I'll need to downgrade my system just to use this device.
If you're going to offer USB only interfaces, it's time you learn to get with the times and actually release drivers for modern operating systems!

In Garmin's defence, there is a huge lack of x64 suppoprt both in drivers and applications. I work in the IT industry and there is a rising level of discontent with the issue of x64 support.
I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at how many of Garmin's potential userbase is running x64 but I suspect it's very very small. _________________ Darren Griffin
