...all of the above plus Navteq on Board, are displayed after a soft reset, well, all but the " MDPNA175/MD95233 " bit anyway, which is the model that I have.
The unit was supplied with UK maps only on its SD card.
I want to use the satnav on the continent, and have a copy of Navteq5 version 5.1; which has lots of continental and Nordic maps.
I'd hoped that by copying the "Installation" folder of the Navteq 5 v5.1; which contains the zipped MNAVDCE and AUTORUNCE folders to my new SD card then copying for instance the Spain and Portugal Maps to the SD card; followed by a hard reset of my MDNPA175, that it would have loaded the Navteq5 v5.1 software and allowed me to see the Spain and Portugal maps.
But no.
The MDPNA175 seems to start to load V5.1, but then pauses about halfway along the blue status bar, and then asks me to insert my SD card (which I already have done). this then gets into a loop.
The only thing that I can do, is go back to the original preloaded SD card which came with the unit and start again after a hard reset, which allows me to load V4.4 with UK maps. Not a lot of use if you are going to Spain in a couple of weeks.......
Can anyone help?
Thanks - BB |

Versions of 4.xx & 5.xx are not compatible as the software engine for v5 was completely redesigned along with the maps being compiled in a different way. |

Thanks for a rapid response, are you saying that there is no way that v5.1 will work on my MDPNA175/MD95233; and that I'm restricted in going no further south than Dover Eastern Docks, unless I take my Michelin (folded paper) maps with me? |

Having just again read your post, Navteq don't sell mapping do they, now Medion do and Navigon do, so where did the NavTeq maps come from ?
The best solution is to purchase the correct map(s) from Medion's web site.
HERE
ACCESSORIES / PDA & Navigation Accessories / PNA175 / PNA175 Maps
Then look on page 4
Medion Electronics
Version 4 Navigation map of Spain & Portugal.
Street level mapping of Spain & Portugal. |
