Hi to everone, i am new to the forum.
This is my first post and i am new to GPS, I have just bought the Navman icn 635 and need some help, do i remove the SD card into a card reader and put the files stored on it on my PC in case i ever 'messed up' and lost them when adding any updates or other to it or upgraded to a bigger memory card.? question 2, i want to put the speed camera files on the Navman and have downloaded them from the site and also got the instructions from the site, when i open the zipped folder and selected the files for my Navam..ASC FILES there are 6 pages..continental...gatso...mobile...redlight...specs..and temp. when i delete the fist line LONGITUDE, LATITUDE, NAME do i use backspace to bring the first line back to the top of the page? then SAVE to my ducuments, do i need to do this to the 6 pages (i dont really need the continental one) and then when in my documents put them all into a TEMP folder and when i run Navman smartST i get them from this folder and follow the instructions, any help would be greatly appreciated, i dont want to damage or upset the data on the Navman, thanks, Dede |

Hi Dede,
As long as you have the CDs which came with your device, there is no need to backup the MC but it won't hurt if you do.
If you use the .asc files there is no reason to edit them at all. The Header line should be preceded by a ; which makes that line invisible to the Navman POIEditor.
I put all the files I want (.asc and corresponding .bmp) into a single directory to avoid having to navigate between two directories. _________________ Tim |

Hi All, Camera software works fine but the only problem is that when i installed it on to the Navman i set the warning tone from the Navman too close the the camera...150ft...i would guess that probably 500ft would be more appropiate. Does anyone know if i could edit the softare on the Navman or would it have to be taken off (please tell me how to) and reinstalled with the new setting distance, all comments very much appreciated, thanks, Dede |

From the main menu on my icn 610 it's;
Settings - OK
Alerts - OK
Active POI - OK
Select the POI you want to change - eg.GATSO - OK
then move the cursor down to the "Distance to POI" and change the distance setting.
Press ESC and save settings.
You'll have to do this for every POI you want to change
I have mine set at 600ft and the next distance is 0.25 miles.
