Does a list exist in this format. The new ViaMichelin X-930 requires POIs in this format.
Thanks |

no link is available.
When you use POI Manager (part of ViaMichelin software) it doesn't recognise the ASC format used in other versions of this software.
Additionally if you download POIs from teh Michelin website these come in POI format.

Then send us some of these POI files and we'll have a look. _________________ Lutz

Hi Southy,
I was wondering if you managed to track down a link to the "Speed Camera" POI's for the X-930. I have just bought this model but cant find a link on this site.
Thanks in advance
Chris. |

Hi I have purchased a subscription to Poket GPS World for the database, and have the same problem with my X-930 - I have now found that if you register (for free) on the Via Michelin website, you can now download a free camera database for free - updated every month. After finding this out I contacted Pocket GPS World and asked for a refund (same day as subscribing) only to be told no - very disappointed with PocketGPSWorld - but check out Via Michelin website - camera database comes in as a POI file and works well!!! |

Just for clarity...
The PGPS speed cam files work perfectly with VM. You import them as personal POI's and then set up the warnings as per the guide.
The issue is that you can only get a warning sound as opposed to a spoken alert.
If you use VM's own fixed speed camera file then you get a spoken alert which uses test to speech so it gives speed and distance warnings.
The drawback here is that VM's file is only for fixed cameras and is not as comprehensive as PGPS files.
The VM data is contained in a .EXE file which uploads a .POI file to the device makinf installation easy.
Given that VM have sponsored PGPSW events and must be on good terms. Would it be possible for VM to supply PGPS with a method of creating the .POI files?
