Can anyone help please. I've just bought my son the above Tom Tom Go 500 and I've have downloaded the safety camera database which is working fine - they have the correct speed values attached. I've also downloaded the Customised POI warning sounds but no matter which type of camera you drive by it returns the phrase "Gatso 50" even though I drive by 30,40,50,60,70 mph gatsos. Have I misunderstood some vital part of the instructions? The file d/load was Version 5.201 - 5252. Otherwise I think this kit is brilliant. I personally use an IPAQ 4150 and Copilot 4 bluetooth with Seidio voice amp, and have compared the two systems at the same time. The TomTom has the clear edge in my opinion.
Hope someone can help with my above problem.
Thanks

As you have downloaded the 5.201 data.chk file, I'm assuming you have v5.201 of TomTom.
I think you may have set the Warn When Near to the same alert.
When you come to the Warning Sound Page use the Left and Right Arrows to find a different sound. Test it, and if it's the right one for the chosen camera, press Select, this will take you to the next page.
The Labels for the sounds do not correspond to the Spoken Warning, but the Download Page has a list of what to use. _________________ Richard

If having the original sounds' names annoys you, there is an add-on program which lets you re-name them AND add more of them above the normal limit.
You can find it here: http://www.rayflanagan.co.uk/poiew.html |
