|
|
Over the weekend my Dell X3 did a hard reset whilst in the cradle in my car. I need to reinstall TT5 but I'm unsure of the procedure. Do I first reinstall TT3, the the upgrade to TT5, then to TT5.01?
I'm sure it's simple but I've just spent most of the day reinstalling and configuring so brain is in meltdown.
Re. the hard reset: I completed a journey from Somerset to Cheshire on Saturday morning and left it running for about an hour when the car was parked; I returned and shut everything off and disconnected and left the Dell on the parcel shelf overnight. The next afternoon, when reconnecting for the homeward journey I discovered the hard reset - bummer.... |

I guess it is a bit late to say that a backup would have been the quickest!
Re-Install v5 then install the latest update. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Seriously though, a backup on your storage card means you can recover from such disasters even when away from home. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yup, I'm there; first TT5 then TT5.10 upgrade, all done without a hitch. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure what caused the involuntary hard reset - still I've learnt a lesson the hard way about the wisdom of backups.
BTW - that's me on the stool in the corner, wake me up and there's a double in it for you.... |

Don't forget, these are from the Bill Gates stable, there isn't always a reason why, it's a Microsoft product and sometimes that's enough reason ;) _________________ Darren Griffin |

You could have had a reminder in your calendar - this will switch your pda on and run it flat as a pancake! |

I was looking for a reason I might have caused. I left the pda in its aluminium case on the parcel shelf overnight and wondered about condensation but reminding me that Mr Gates has a hand in all this means I have to think no further... |
