|
|
Hi all,
I will travelling from Belgium to Greece in one month from now.
I have all the maps of europe (benelux, France, Germany, Italy as well as Major road of Europe) in my SD card.
Of course Major Roads of Europe is the map I am going to use but how can I load the speed camera POIs? Do they exist for that map? I have downloaded for the rest of the maps but how do I make it work in the big one?
Thanks
George |

Just place a second copy of all the POI's into the MRE map folder. _________________ Richard

So I have to rename them for each country otherwise they will be overwritten. They all have the same name (for each country) |

If two files have identical names, just rename one of them, by adding a number to the end. The data presented on the screen will still be the same. _________________ Richard

Only problem is that I have TOOOOOO many POIs. Arround 15 POIs for each country with different speed cameras (30,50,60,90,110 etc etc)
Is there a site which has one POI file with cameras for each country? |

There is a single camera file that you can download from the Camera Database. It puts together all 5 types of cameras in one file. Don't know about other countries. _________________ Richard

You're talking about UK only? |

Yes. I have no experience of camera files from the continent. _________________ Richard

Using POIEdit you can convert OV2 files to a database format, join the files together, and re-export to a single OV2 file.
There are loads of camera databases on other sites covering most of Europe although some involve a subscription of probably less than £20 a year which is not excessive. |

I don't know of any that are free and anywhere near complete. The cost of subscription is much cheaper than the hassle of not having them in my view. The POIHandler databases are only €12 a year! less than the cost of an hour's driving. |

nothing like being spoiled.
Are the UK POI Handler databases as up to date as the pocket gps ones?
