looking at purchasing a Pocket PC to run TT5 with Fortuna Slim Bluetooth GPS...
Stuck between Ipaq PC 2210, Dell Axim X30, or is it worth spending more on the Ipaq hx2410...
Any info would be great can't decide...
Also need it to be wireless as well as bluetooth.. and I think all those mentioned are... any other good uns to add to the list...
Thanks... |

I'd definately choose one that has been confirmed as getting a rom upgrade to Windows Mobile 5. Bring on that persistant memory! |

....I don't think the 2210 is wireless, just BT and IR. |

2210 defininately not got wifi - but you can add this with a CF or SD card adaptor. I use a CF one with my 2210, and find it heavy on batteries, and a bit "clunky" - I'm sure a PDA with it built in would be better.
2210 also has a history of problems with Bluetooth GPS receivers - I don't know whether it's actually been resolved now, but I found it so annoying, that I sold my (perfectly good) BT receiver and "upgraded" to a wired one!.
Finally I don't think you can get the 2210 to work in Landscape mode without third party software - when I tried it, it wasn't particularly good.
I'm sure I've seen several online stores still selling the 2210 in GPS bundles - perhaps they are just clearing old stock?. |
