If you plan a route and then select Find Alternative../Travel Via../City Centre then the planned route does NOT go through the chosen City Centre!!!
In all cases it uses the nearest major roads and completely misses the chosen City Centre.
This also happens in the Itinerary Planner if you use a City Centre as a Waypoint!!!
I hope this is not another "Feature" of TTN5.
Can anyone throw any light on this? |

The only thing that I can summise it that it takes it to the general area.
I found that if you use Point on Map/Find City Centre/Tap on a street/Done it will load the street into the Itinerary and then Navigate Via that street. _________________ Richard

Hi Oldboy
Can I assume from your post that you have also found that using a City Centre as a waypoint just takes you close to, but not actually to, the City Centre.
On reflection, if this is a feature and not a bug, it could actually be quite useful. It provides a method of modifying the route by adding City Centre waypoints which will take you on the route direction you require without actually visiting each City Centre.
It might make up for the Avoid Area feature which I used a lot in TTN3 and was removed from TTN5.
Just to confirm that as you stated if you create a waypoint with any form of address it does actually go exactly through that point.
Regards

Only if the Route is close by the City and not going part way through it. Have not checked every scenario as yet.

Yes. If the Waypoint is an address, or a POI, or a point on a road, it will take you through that point. _________________ Richard
