|
|
I've recently bought a France map for my TTG300 and am currently downloading some POIs ready for a holiday next week. I've just downloaded a couple of the French supermarket chains from POIHandler and would like to combine them into one big category. So a couple of questions if anyone can help please.
1. How do I combine what I've downloaded into one POI category?
2. Does anyone know any other sites where I can download POIs for France?
Thanks in advance all. 8) |

Use the OV2 tools on tomtom site to convert to the text files, then using notepad combine them into one file - then use the tools to convert back to ov2 files _________________ J. |

Thanks for the info, I understand the principle but how is it done?
I've downloaded the program, but when I open the dumpov2 file I cant see what I need to do.
Can anyone explain in plain English what to do please? Sorry if it's easy or obvious but I'm sat here totally bemused.
Thanks Again |

copy the "dumpov2.exe" and "makeov2.exe" into a new directory, then copy the ov2 files into the same directory. Double click on the dumpov2.exe - for each ov2 file should appear an .asc file - you can open these files in notepad (you can either use open with, or just the open from file menu).
Create you desired file - save this to a the directory. Now run a command prompt (run dialog and type "cmd" in 2K/XP - "Command" in 98) change to the directory you have the files in. Then type makeov "filename.asc" - a new ov2 file should appear _________________ J. |

In Explorer if you drag an .OV2 file to Dumpov2.exe it will do the same.
You just need to Open with ... Notepad for both files and then Select All of one file and Copy/Paste onto the end of the other file.

In Explorer again just drag the .ASC file to Makeov2.exe and it will create the .OV2 of the same name, also the default BMP unless one already exists. _________________ Richard

Glad to someone else is still up
I now have 6 .asc files, how do I combine them prior to dragging them to the Makeov2.exe ( just dragged them all over individually and ended up with 6 .ov2 files which didn't help as I was them back where I started) |

PJEvans, {not a car dealership are you?? }
With regard to French Hypermarkets, Banks, Decathalon, 'Radars', Cheap petrol places, and Motorhome Aires (Aires Camping-Cars) and numerous other POI's then go here;

You need to register, but I have a myriad of these POI's on my French Map. Bloomin' useful. _________________ Cheers, Doc L.

Must remember to remember that one next time I am trying to explain how to build up a command line instruction - so used to just running command lines, dragging files onto it/using tab key (XP) to build it up I tend to forget tricks like that. _________________ J. |
