I have a HICOM 203E GPS mouse and my mobile (imate smartphone) does not have bluetooth.
Can any navigation software work with this configuration like (tomtom mobile 5, CoPilot, Navigon 5, ...). |

Hello and welcome to the site. Can you please give us some more information on your setup and what you want to achieve. Right now some of your statements are conflicting and make it difficult to answer.
Navigation programs for smartphones all expect a Bluetooth receiver and will not work with a serial receiver (the Smartphone doesn't have a serial port) _________________ Lutz

Let me clarify a bit in more details.
My mobile is:
Imate smartphone1 with a Universal Connector (where the USB/Serial syncronization cable plug in). This mobile does not have bluetooth builtin.
My GPS Receiver is:
HAICOM 203E, a GPS mouse with a PS/2 connector.
I used to have a Qtek 1010 and I bought tomtom Navigator 2 with the carkit where it has a Y shape car charger one goes to the Qtek and the other goes to the GPS receiver and at the same time it connects the GPS receiver with the Qtek. That worked ine.
Today, I have the Imate smartphone1 and I wonder If I can do the same as I used to do with the Qtek.
I note that most navigation software run on smartphones requires only bluetooth communication with the GPS receiver.
Is there any navigation software that can work with my current mobile and GPS receiver.
sorry to be booring, but I need your help guys. |

The only program that comes to mind is Mapopolis - they let you choose the COM port. But I haven't tried to use a COM1 setup with a Smartphone yet. I still doubt this will work. _________________ Lutz
