Given that you had a laptop that wasn't used much, what would you recommend in the way of additional hardware and software to use this laptop as a moble GPS unit ? _________________ Rich |

I am hoping to use my tosh c300 laptop running win2k and ms autoroute 2003 with a gps unit.
I have looked at the haicom 203e with USB connection and wondered if it'll work Ok, since autoroute on the laptop seems ok with a serial port connection, but I can't find a setting for using the usb port.
If not I'll have to 'play safe' and go for the serial version.
Currently I am trying to get a serial lead connection on my palm 500 gps companion, but if that doesn't work out I suspect the haicom would make a good alternative.
So - any comment welcome, especially along the lines of 'my similar setup works fine' ;-)
