For those that noted my previous thread and are interested, i went out and bought a brand spanking new version of TTN3.
Anyway, i've previously used the Garmin emap, a wonderful toy, mounted on my motorbike. Having had it for a while, i found the lack of autorouting annoying so i plummed for a pda and TTN3, with checkpoi as i'm wary of getting anymore points on my license
Got it all installed and working, with the revelvant interface cables to the emap. Now, heres the thing. The emap (hass full UK maps loaded) shows my position exactly correctly outside of my house. However the TTN3 shows me on the next road ! ! ! !
I've tried changing the settings on the garmin to output NMEA but its still very confused.
I've left it switched on for a fair while, and after 45mins its still very confused...... is there anyway i can sync the two together?
I've not been out with it yet, as its late...but is this normal?
I dont want to use a GPS mouse, as the Garmin is water proof and GPS mice etc tend not to be. Also i use it for walking and dont want to get rid of it...

This is "normal" - TomTom is a street navigation program and expects you to use it on streets, not in your house.
This feature is called "Snap To Road" - it can be disabled in some other programs (but not TomTom) and will try to find the nearest road to your position.
You will have the same problem when you are outside the known map area (for example in a field or on a new road) - TomTom will not route you unless you are close to a known road. Especially annoying on parking lots where you have to decide which way to enter the street but TomTom won't tell you. _________________ Lutz

Right I've sorted it....
for reference:
The emap needs to be set to interface type "GARMIN" or "NMEA"
Make sure the output "datum" is hddmm.mm (mine was set to OS map standard)
This is also the standard or TomTom.....
Bingo, they both give the same location and things run just fine ! ! ! !
