hi i have a mitac mio 338 and tomtom 3 wired with car kit ive had it running for about 3 days constant and still only picking up 8 satellites and the message gps position unreliable can any one help thanks |

GPS position unreliable is misleading; I discovered my accident it means that your current location is not shown on the supplied map. Try moving your location maybe only a few feet to a road which is displayed on the map. The messsage should then go away. Eight satellites is good, twelve being the maximum and three minimum for a fix. |

I get the same message but it does not stop navigator working so I have just ignored it so far

Are you actually on a road when you get this error? If you have 8 satellites then reception is good, you'll rarely get more, 12 is theoretically possible but rare, three is enough for navigation, any more is a bonus!
The error in your case probably means you are not actually located on a road in the map database. _________________ Darren Griffin |
