|
|
Are there alternative Bluetooth receivers that can be successfully used with a Palm T3 running TT Navigator 4.40. ?..my new Tom Tom receiver doesn't seem to pass a valid GPS signal to the PDA and I would like to investigate something more reliable whilst it goes back!..what are the Palm community using out there? ![Confused](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |

It's suggested that way because you can't buy the software only version, but I run different GPS's on the Palm OS without a hitch. |

Dave
Bearing in mind that you use several, which one has been the most accurate & reliable.
My TomTom unit failed on me today, and the red light is on all the time, even when not connected to any charger.
Any ideas? |

They are all about as accurate as each other apart from the XTrac 2 ones but for driving you really won't notice any difference.
Reliability wise, the Emtac/Socket BT GPS and GlobalSat/DConnex have been very good. Holux also have had very few returns I believe.
Sounds like the TTBTGPS has probably died if it doesn't change after doing a full charge. |

Thanks for that Dave
I charged the TTBT up overnight and it seems to be working, so I need to check how I plug it into the car - I generally have it 'on charge' all the time. I have just changed cars & most likely did not get all the connectors in properly, or moved it & knocked it out.
Will having it 'on charge' all the time shorten its life?
and the other question
Will it still work if it is 'on charge' but the battery dead?
