I'm looking for a directory of UK companies to add to TomTom to allow me to navigate to a company by name, rather than having to know the exact address. Is such a database available?
Thanks. |

Don't know about a database, but I have to visit both Sainsbury's and CooP stores across the south. These I have in two POI files installed on the SD card. They would need to be in the .OV2 format for TT. You can use TomTom POI editor to create it which is available on this site.
Once you have created the OV2 file and copied to the map directory on the SD card with a suitable .BMP file, you can use TT's navigate to POI to select the destination and navigate to. Although I don't use TT now it worked for me when I did and still does with CP5 although the OV2 files had to be converted to .XLS files using POIConverter for CP5 to use. _________________ Graham.

As TT3/TTGO and similar products become more popular, I'm hoping companies start to make location files available for download from their websites. It would also be good if Good Pub Guides etc. were available for download in geo-coded formats. |

A lot of the Companies do already. Such as Sainsbury's, Homebase, Vauxhall and Cooperative group. If you go onto their sites you will find that they have a Store Locator link that by entering a County, Town or Postcode will list the stores etc. usually with a map showing the location with Lat & Long coordinates, copy and paste into POIEditor and you have your .OV2 for TT. _________________ Graham.
