I thought that I would give copilot 5 a try. I keep having memory issues. I have erased everthing that I can. I noticed that copilot .wav files were placed in main memory under the windows folder. Can these be moved to the storage card? Also do wave files take up more memory than the text to speach?
Thanks. This forum is awesome. |

The wav files cannot be moved to storage card yet. I am sure ALK will have that fixed in the next release. You can read my review if you want - I explain some of the memory stuff there.
Yes, WAV files tend to occupy more space than a TTS engine a la Fonix. But the sound quality is sooo much better...
Do you have a task manager? Or, do you also have the memory issues when you start CP5 first thing after a soft reset? _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply.
It is strange. When I first start copilot, it works fine. Then if I look up a couple of POI's, I get a lack of memory message. I really don't want to delete any other programs. Is it possible to run Copilot from a storage card? |

Yes, you can run CoPilet 5 from storage card, except for the wav files - those need to be in the \windows directory. ALK are aware of this bug and will hopefully fix it in the next release. _________________ Lutz
