Hi

I have A Dell Axim X30 with TT3, Memory Map and GPSDash installed.
The Fortuna ClipOn has worked fine with all three. (Com 7)

However since using with Memory Map the Fortuna 'refuses' to talk
to any of the programmes.
I can establish a BT connection ok (blue light flashing) but no meaningful data connection between software and ClipOn.

Looking at received data in the GPSDash data window shows a continuous
string of Euro symbols being received from the ClipOn. Switching off ClipOn causes data window to report 'Reception Timeout occured' making me think that there is activity via Com 7.

If I run MemoryMap it seems as though it's trying to talk to the ClipOn as the blue light flashes for about 10sec before the Axim screen returns to the BT Browser screen to (re)select device again. MemoryMap reports unable to open Com port if I cancel this action.

TT3 reports 'GPS position unreliable' and of course there is no indication of a 'link between TT3/ClipOn in the TT3 GPS Status screen.
ClipOn (normally) works reliably if TT3 set to Com 7 and SIRF Bluetooth.

I have tried:
Removing ClipOn battery - replacing battery.
Removing ClipOn battery for 12hrs plus.
Switching between ST and XT modes.
Multiple soft re-sets of Axim.
Re-pairing Axim/ClipOn

I have not tried any form of ClipOn flash upgrade etc.

Is there a problem with the ClipOn or perhaps Com 7 ?

Should I, as suggested by Global Positioning Systems Tech support do complete reinstall of all software.........???

Thanks!

John
