I live in the US and I purchased Navigon 4.2 for Europe which I will be travelling in the summer. My question is that Navigon does not see my bluetooth receiver. This has me worried that the program won't work when I get to Spain ect... Is that because I am in the USA or is it something else. I've tried some other GPS program "for" the US and they have not been able to see my receiver either. Memory-Map with european Topo maps, for example, will see my longitute and ect... but will not see any satellites. Destinator 3 and TOMTOM have both seen my receiver. TOMTOM, however, is a program that I want to stay far away from because of their driver issues that want to own your PDA. Bottom line question is, will a European map not see satellites in another continent? Thanks very much. |

You will have the TomTom issues when it is installed, not just when it runs. Have a read on our TomTom Bluetooth guide, and adjust your setup so that TomTom releases the COM port again. _________________ Lutz

But I don't even have TomTom installed any longer. I did a hard reset and reinstalled all my programs with out TOMTOM. A lot of programs from Mapapolis, Pocket Streets, GPS Dash do not see my receiver. Destinator 3 sees it here in USA but Navigon does not. Again I'm not sure if it's because I"m not in Europe at the moment. TomTom Europe 3.7 did immediatly see my receiver and satellites even though I am here. It dispalyed a blank map of Spain of course because I wa not in the country. Navigon can't even see the satellites. |

Did you verify that your receiver is set to output NMEA? _________________ Lutz

There is no where to that I know of to make set that either in the receiver or the Navigon software. |

Yes, there is. Read my review on the BT-338, and familiarize yourself with SiRFDemo... Read both my and Guillaume's articles before you use it though, it's a tad tricky. _________________ Lutz

YOU ARE GREAT. Thank you so much. IT WORKED. As soon as I reset the unit my program snapped to attention. Again, after days of frustation, I am in your debt. Take care. |
