There appears to be a lack of Voice files for alerting you to the POI's.
I am going to make my own up. I have made a list up, anyone think of anymore that would be handy?

the latest update of the speedcam poi's came with a load of speedcam-related wav files.
Besides that I have a load of joke ones I put on to keep the kids amused in the back, like toilet stops, mcdonalds and the "I'm sorry, we seem to be completely lost" one for when the wife's driving. |

yes i got them wavs, there all loaded up, the best one is the one with the siren before the warning. You can hear it over the radio but it's an annoying american lady. some of the others are a little hard to hear and there must be 4 differant voices in there.
I just wanted to create a set of them with the same voice. Maybe I should add all the fast food places too.
Mind you, you can't live in London and have McAlerts turned on, it's bad enough with the speed cam alarms going off every 30 seconds! |

I'd be interested in these sounds.
I've just tried the set that come with the pocketpgs database (cam20limit.wav etc) they are a mixed bag, most are annoying americans and generally too quiet (esp. compared to the TomTom voices)
Good luck with creating a 'decent' set.

Hi,
OK I did get those voice files made up, I am using them but I'm not too happy with them. They came out a little quiet so I am going to get them re recorded using some proper gear, i.e. a proper Mic!
They are very good and the voice is nice and clear.
As soon as I get a good working set I will post a link on here or let you know so I can Email them...

Did you ever get those files sorted out, xxxxxxrich?
I've tried all the ones I could find in circulation (except the ones mentioned by PocketGPS in a reply to your post - link seems to be dead), and they're pretty poor, especially after the excellent TomTom voice files.
Regards,
