Could someone please tell me the best way to back up TT Nav 3.07 on an MDA111 as I have twice now had the battery go flat which means that the MDA111 has done a hard reset. TomTom have so far been very understanding but if this keeps happening I think they will get the hump. If I copy the entire contents of the MDA onto my computer will this be good enough. As when it does it I could then just copy it back.

Does your PDA have a built in backup program? If so, use that and back the contents of the RAM up onto the storage card. When the battery went flat again all you need to do is the Restore.

An alternative would be Sprite Backup, but I don't know how they handle the restore - you may need to install the Sprite program to storage card so you can start it again after the flat battery.

Yes, I strongly recommend Sprite Backup, and backing up onto a storage card. It compresses the data, and in my cases uses just over 20MB on the card. I have it configured to leave 2 backups on the card, then the next time you do a backup it deletes the oldest to make space.
Under Backup options, tick the box which says Create self-restoring backup files. Then it's a simple matter to get your PDA back to the state it was in before a hard reset. Well worth $10, Sprite is much better than the backup utility which comes with the PDA
