Help with Magellan Meridian Platinum!!

I recently bought a Magellan Meridian Platinum. The problem is, the instructions it comes with are horrible. I would like to find a tutorial of some type so I can be walked through how this equipment can be utilized. A class, a website, anything. Any suggestions?

What information are you specifically looking for ? The manual is quite thorough although it doesn't just cover the platinum model, but the whole of the Meridian range as all of the models are fairly close in feature sets.

It's hard to say. I know some things such as the "go to" function. Can I track mileage without creating a leg? How do I start creating a leg? Can I download waypoints of the internet like others have said I can? Is there any computer software out there that I can utilize to help organize my waypoints? I'm trying to think of other questions, but it would be nice if I had a tutorial of some sort to walk me through the functions. Thanks!

I don't think you can with mileage. You can certainlly use G7toCE or G7toWin to download waypoints and track data to a Pocket PC or to a PC. You could then perhaps overlay this with a map of the area. G7 is primarily for Garmins hence the G, but it will support limited information on download from Magellan GPS Receivers. Check out the G7toXX website for more info.



I don't think you'll get anything to organise the waypoints on the Magellan itself though.

Go to www.thegpsstore.com. They sell instructional videos for a number of units. I recently bought the Meridian Platinum and the video at the same time. The manual is really worthless but watching the video several times was very satisfying. They are $14.95.
