I will retain the single ZIP file but make better use of subfolders. In that way I will be able to separate the OV2/BMP files from the CSV and XLS files which should help (a bit).

I think that Richard (Oldie) does a great job, what some other people don't understand is that this is all done in his own personal time without any financial gain or reward, so to keep asking for more break downs of the files is very time consuming, without all the effort put in by all the people who run this web site none of this would have ever been available in the first place.
This is not a dig at anybody, just pointing out what work Richard has to put in for us all to receive this great data base. |

| Thanks for pointing that out. I am fully aware of the effort that is put in. I am also aware of the effort that is given to help unfortunate users who get confused.
For the record, this thread was started after consultation with Richard and was in no way intended to add burden onto anyone. And just to clarify, there is no need for a further breakdown of files, that is already done. All that is required is to group them.
The end result of grouping the file types into folders is a good compromise. _________________ Ian.

There is very little extra effort involved in creating separate files but it would seem that for most people this is not a big issue. As stated earlier in this thread I will organise sub-folders in the ZIP file in a better way next time.
My biggest worry is that all 25,000 of you users will send in updates at the same time :D and that I will have to email back asking for the road speed limit

Perhaps what is really needed is a table on the download page that lays out what each system needs in the way of file types. I know there are lots of combinations, but it would only need to be done once. _________________ Richard

There is already a page for each system and its software - CoPilot, Navman, AutoRoute but unfortunately these confuse people as every page refers to TomTom and .ov2 files which, as most of us will know, is not correct.
Perhaps these could be amended as soon as possible to reflect the correct file types for each of the different software packages? _________________ Ian.

You forgot Memory map, for which you need the .ov2 files imported into Richard's POI converter program and then exported as Maptech Marks File (MXF) which are then imported into Memory Map. _________________ Graham.

But we're talking about safety cameras here. There wouldn't be much point importing them into Memory Map would there? If you did, how would it alert you when approaching the camera? _________________ Ian.

To help the users of the Garmin iQue I have started a new topic:-
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=18387
As you will see the procedure is complicated and involves installing three or four extra software programs. |

For Medion Navigator 4 and Navigon 4 you can follow the guide on my web page, but please note, Navigon 4 requires a different version of POI-Warner to the one in the link, so if you follow the link be sure to select the correct version for your Navigon software from the links on the POI-Warner web site as this software has to be purchase to work, if you are not sure which version to use then use the POI-Warner Contact page to email them for help, include your hardware setup and gps software make and version. |

Who's talking about alerts? Autoroute which you included in you original post doen't have alerts, were talking about importing the cameras into various programs so that they show up in the map view. _________________ Graham.

AutoRoute was included as it is street navigation software whereas Memory Map is OS mapping, primarily for off road pursuits. _________________ Ian.
