|

Hi, I dont know if anyone can help.
I bought a Brodit active 1900 car kit last week, but am having trouble getting it to work with my Ipaq 1910.
I bought a Haicom 204e receiver, which has a male ps2 connector as does the car kit, I've wired up an adaptor cable using the diagrams in both instructions, but the pda will not see the receiver.
I have wired it as follows
Haicom - Brodit
1 - 3
2 - 6
3 -
4 - 4
5 - 2
I am using TT3.
The light on the Haicom flashes and locks on, but the Ipaq is not receiving any data (time or anything).
Are there any settings that need to be changed on the Ipaq, and should it be set to com3 or serial on usb. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Is the mount specially for 19xx and for connection to a GPS (any GPS)?
19xx do not have serial port so cannot connect any GPS via cable.
There are special GPS package (with special mount which line up the IR port) for 19xx using IR port.
I do not know Brodit. Does it have the IR in the mount pointint at the IR port of the Ipaq? _________________ Pc-Mobile

Thanks for the reply.
It is sold as a 1900 gps mount, No It doesn't have an IR connection. Possibly I should've bought the Haicom one.

The mount does say it is for 19xx and there is GPS connection.
But I do not think any GPS connected to it will work.
As far as I know, IR is the only way you can connect a GPS to 19xx series.
May be you should ask Brodit for confirmation. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Thanks again, I have emailed Brodit for support, but they have not replied yet. I guess I'll end up buying a Haicon cradle.
