Hi,
Can someone explain how to use MSN Messanger from my PPC while it is connected to the cradle? I keep getting the message "Logon to MSN Messenger service failed because the service is not responding".
While the PPC is in the cradle I can connect to the internet.

If you can conenct to the internet using Pocket Internet Explorer from your cradle connection, then there should be no reason why Pocket MSN Messenger wouldn't work. There's no connection options like the desktop version of MSN Messenger.
The only thing I can think of is that you either have a personal firewall, or a network firewall that's causing a problem ? |

I have turned off the firewall, still get the same message, or is it that it needs a direct connection to the internet via bluetooth or Wifi? I have not had these set-up yet. |

No, you can do it through the cradle. If you can access the internet using Pocket Internet Explorer through the cradle, then I can't see any reason why MSN Messenger won't use the same connection, mine works fine here. |

Hi
The only reason I can see that its not working is that you have another instance of MSM runnig on the desktop which is tieing up the ports that the software uses?
I only use mine in the house on the Wifi to my router?

The Messenger Service was upgraded recently. To use Messenger on any PocketPC you have to install the update or you will be unable to sign-in.
The required update is available here. _________________ Darren Griffin |
