I have just seen the following press item on the main Destinator site:
Destinator PN – Personal Navigation has never been easier!
Munich, 23rd February 2005 – Destinator Europe GmbH will present its new
navigation solution for PDAs - Destinator PN – at this year’s CeBIT. Destinator PN, the successor version to the well-established Destinator 3 and Destinator 3 Professional navigation solutions, not only comes with a new graphic user interface but also offers an abundance of new or optimised functions which make mobile navigation even easier and more effective.

Yes we have it in for review, and MS Mobile News have just released a review. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I could only see a review of Destinator SP, not PN on the MS Mobile News site. Is it SP or PN you have for review?
Also, does anyone know what Destnator's upgrade policy is for recent purchases? I bought D3 only three weeks ago. |

Sorry, my mistake. We will be reviewing PN but don't have a copy as yet. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If you search on google for destinator pn you will find a number of german web pages giving detailed descriptions of the new features. Just use the translate option in google. |

Interesting - the pdf data sheet mentions some fairly unusual features - mainly links from the software to a mobile phone - like sending your current location to another mobile phone user.
It also mentions text-to-speech, though it says "in future, this optional feature" which might well mean "we have not finished it yet and you have to pay to upgrade to it". I have heard of this before - didn't Co-pilot have something similar? |

Currently from what I've seen there's no TTS at the moment, but then again I can't get it working properly
You can send your position via text message/SMS but this is different to what ALK does which is a LIVE tracking service. |

Rather that having to translate the details from German, if you go to the Destinator (www.destinator1.com) or Destinator Europe (www.destinatoreurope.com) web sites - look under news and there is the full 3 page press release in English giving details of Desitnator PN. From what I can see most of the German sites have just printed the same press release, but in German.
