Leadtek Warranty??!!

Hi all,

Anyone knows or had luck with leadtek warranty? I have a defective leadtek gps 9537 after 2 months of use!!!! I have called leadtek but all i get is an answering machine and they never call back.


Any idea?

I emailed them through their website a few days ago. No reply as yet, not even an acknowledgement.

I emailed them and gor a reply....they asked me where i am located and they promised to send me the closest service centre....that was more than 10 days ago.....i replied and never got what they promised.

I did call their USA branch-Suppot EXT. (I live in canada). I left about 7 voice messages and no call back..... on my last message I promised to keep calling and harassing them till they return my call.

Finally I called their sales department....someone picked up the phone.... i asked for his name and that crap and I told him that I am recording the call..... :D . told him about my story and he promised to let someone call me in few min.

Someone called 3 min later..... he acknowledged my 7 VMs I left !!!!. he asked me where I bout the device from and I did not mention ebay. I told him I got it as a present. He asked me to take it to the store where (they) bought it from and I told him the they did and the store only gives 1 month warranty and they I have to contact leastek. (nothing like that actually happened). Then he started doing some troubleshooting things and then gave me an RMA and asked me to send it to them. They WILL NOT provide a temp replacement and I have to wait at least a month for my GPS to be fixed and sent back to me.

I am still waiting for an update from them......

Moral of the story>>>>>>>>>Never buy a leadtek device even if it is good. THEIR SUPPORT SUCKS.

Here is the email I recieved from them this morning:

I did the inspection of your unit and I found the problem is the internal antenna that cannot work properly.
I have to send it back to Taiwan for repairing.
If I have any news, I will keep you posted.

Then I emailed them the following:

When do you think I will get it back? Is there any chance you send me a replacement (not necessary new...used or refurbished will do it)?


Then I got this very disappointing email:

Hi, Phil:

It will probably take around 1 month or so, but no guarantee.
I would like to give you a replacement, but to be honest with you, we did not carry this product a lot, even we don't have used or refurbished one here.

1 month and no replacement !!!!!!!! who the hell would buy a leadtek product anymore? at least it won't be me.
