Run Tom tom from pda sdram card?

The only reason I need my Pocket Loox 600 pda is for the OCCASIONAL and unforeseen use of TomTom Navigator 3. Rather than maintain the battery charge of my pda when left in the car (which is impractical) does anyone know if it is possible to install Nav 3 and maps onto a SDRAM card and run these from this instead of from the pdas internal memory. ie to avoid the reinstallation required by the battery going flat.

The best solution is probably to use Sprite Backup to create a self-extracting backup file on the SD card.

That way you can just charge the battery, restore the backup and you're ready to go.
