TT Navigator 2 GPS or Socket GPS ??

Navman SmartST Pro won't work with the Emtac, only Navman's own sleeve, so you would need to look at other GPS Software like CoPilot 3.5, Destinator 2 or TomTom Navigator 2.

Must admit I'm tempted to go wireless as well. Currently I have the 3970 and Navman 3400. Will I need to get something like TT Nav2 + Emtac/Socket Bluetooth GPS, or can I use it with the map software that came with Navman?



I've got quite used to the Navman s/w, but is there any retailers that can show me a working demo of TomTom Nav before I buy?

Milan, it will still work with the 3870, the 3870 has Bluetooth support, it's the 3850 that doesn't.

Ash, not really, but you're going to get them with most of the newer receivers!

I love marketing blurb:



SnapLock acquisition = its fast at getting a fix!

SingleSat positioning = not sure how this can work because you really need three satelites to get a basic triangulated fix, (probably makes a wild guess technology)

Dual multipath rejection = does some error checking.

Foliage lock sensitivity = it works when walking under a tree!

Superior Sensitivity for Urban Canyon and Foliage Environment = It works when walking down a city street, or in a wood!



a gps without these functions wouldn't be very useful!

There isn't a lot of difference between the two, I guess it really depends on whether you want an in-car powered solution, or a wireless solution. You will pay a premium to have the wireless solution, but it will be a lot neater.
