Before I plunge in, again, and try TT3 3.07 on my 2210 is there any hope it will work correctly. I have read the posts about issues with 2210's and TT3. Have things progressed? |

I have TT3 and IPAQ 2210 and it works perfectly for me. I have a wired GPS receiver though. I think most of the problems came with the bluetooth one and the 2210? |

I have a CF card, never liked SD cards in anything and yes I read that the issues are mostly with BT. Tried it once before and I had good sat fixes in the TT config screen but it would not start. I just got the spinning pizza for about 10 seconds then nothing. |

I also have never had any problems with my 2210 and TTN3 but again I also use a wired connection, There are threads that explain what to do if you have a BT connection.

I had a CF GPS receiver with the maps on the CF GPS itself and had a world of problems. Locked up every time I tried to do anything.
So instead I got a wired receiver with a high speed CF card for the maps, and it's all good |

I have TTN3 with a wired Holux receiver. My UK maps are on a SD card, and I have European maps on a CF card. It's totally reliable whichever maps I have selected

The consensus seems to be that the combination of iPAQ h2210, maps on an SD card, Bluetooth GPS and TomTom Navigator 3 is unreliable. Change any one thing (for example, put the maps on a CompactFlash card, or used a wired GPS) and things will work reliably.
In my case, the different item is the iPAQ - I use an hx4700 with maps on an SD card, a Bluetooth GPS and TomTom Navigator 3.07T, and everything works properly.
At this stage, it's unlikely there'll be any more development on TomTom Navigator 3. The announcement of the next version, which hopefully won't share these problems, is likely to come fairly soon - quite possibly from CeBIT.

I certainly appreciate all the responses. I run my 2210 with a 512CF card and I am beginning to suspect a dodgy install last time. I will try again. The other challenge I face is switching from Co Pilot 5 to TT3.
I would point out that I find CP5 an absolute joy to use, foibles and all, especially the PC planning facility. Really wanted to try an alternative just to see and with a few pennies burning a hole in my wife's purse............. _________________ TomTom 720

I have recently purchased TTN3 to run on my HP 2210 Ipaq, complete with a new 512Meg SD card. I run a Parott hands free car kit with a built in bluetooth GPS receiver.
Having completed the install I have suffered nothing but problems.
However I was persistent with it and it ran a little until after a couple of days even the TTN3 software would not start up. Much frustration.
At this point I want to thank the contributors to this forum, without the comments here I would ot have any idea how to fix it. After reading the posts it would seem that I have chosen a c**p combination of hardware anyway.
To cut a long story short. This afternoon I went down to PC world and purchased a 128Meg CF card. I have transfered the map onto it along with the speed camera data. It now works perfectly, the screen visibly updates faster. AND it hasn't frozen yet :D I've tried it in Nottingham and up and down the motorway.
I would say that I have had much more sucess with the set up by starting the GPS bit of the software first and establishing a bluetooth connection waiting a few moments and then starting the TTN software.
It would seem to confirm that data access speed is faster and maybe more reliable from a CF card?
MUCH JOY..I'm off to drive around |

The combination of iPAQ h2210, TomTom Navigator 3, maps on an SD card and Bluetooth GPS seems troublesome for many. Change any one element, and all appears to work fine (you chose the easy and cheap option of putting your maps on a CF card).
Hopefully this problem will not carry over to the forthcoming TomTom Navigator 5 software.
