Hi Guys first of all thanks for a great Forum, My TT Go comes tomorrow this will be my first ever Sat Nav device, and looking foreward to trying it out.
Forgive me for being a bit green behind the ears, but I have been told all maps have to be on a seperate SC Card, cannot see it myself but I thought I would ask the right people. Also can the maps on the CD be split into different countries, as I will only ever use France?
Best Wishes

You are right. Maps off the cd can be added country by country just as you need. You can also add as many maps as you sd card will hold. You will have to select then manually when you enter a new country. |

Thanks for your info Nich. Having read this forum I have found out that my TTG comes only with a 128 sd card, I have purchased a 256 today along with a card reader. I hope I can transfure the the data from the 128 card to the 256 and still have room left for more POI.
Best Wishes

I don't think a 256Mb card will be big enough to put the France and Britain maps on with the system software.
You already have the system and UK maps filling (almost) a 128Mb card and the France map alone is 235Mb (according to This source).
I have the UK map and the Major Roads of Europe Map (82Mb) and a few Points of Interest and I am running at 234Mb at the moment. |

Yes you will need a 512MB to include France and the UK. You don't want to crowd the card too much as TTG writes to the card and needs a 'little' workspace.
A lot of users opt for a 1GB card so that if they want to stray 'over the border' that can load another country. _________________ Richard

Have you actually bought the Maps of Western Europe, or referring to the standard CD that comes with the GO.
The Maps of Western Europe have the full street level detail for each individual country, whereas the TomTom CD only comes with the Major Roads of Europe. A little confusing I know, but the Major Roads of Europe cannot be split up and is only about 88Mb so if this is what you are referring to then you can fit it all on a single 256Mb card along with the Maps of the UK. _________________ Mike Barrett |
