Can anyone give me a rough estimate as to how much data is sent / received via GPRS when using TTT?
I know about the subscription costs, but have yet to find any average ( or even an estimated) data download info.
Many Thanks

Matt,
How long is a piece of string I am afraid...
If there are lots of traffic (>300 incidents) anticpiate about 4K download. Also if you update it frequently, about every ten minutes, the costs more, so it is a suck and see.
You can even use it when it is on wireless or USB active sync as well (it is only looking for an Internet connection).

Simon,
Thanks for that, 4K is a lot lower than I was expecting. Just trying to work out monthly costs for this, including an approximate figure for my GPRS costs. Looks to be easily less than 1Mb per month which is all I get for "free" at the moment :-)
Cheers

I started the trial in December and subscribed to the full product to get the cheap rate. Anyway from £11 on my orange PAYG mobile from 2nd December I still have £2.50 left as of tonight. I think it is £4 per mb for Orange PAYG GPRS, but I could buy a bundle (£4 for 4mb but it does not carry over each month) so don't think it's worth it as I'm not even using 1mb a month.
I use it most days and travel all over UK and have it set to automatically update every 15 mins, so all in all it's very cheap to use. |
