I just bought a 510 this past weekend with the US maps. The maps seem accurate, but missing some newer (1-2 years) roads. Lot's of POIs as well.

Thanks for the reply, what state do you live in.
I was just extremely nosey as to how, if any, different it might be, my first experience with sat/nav was a unit from Avis Car Hire and it said Road Names and much more, but this was more like a cellphone type unit.
I would'nt think so but do the USA maps make the 510 perform any different from """" at the roundabout, take the second exit.... etc .
Are the USA maps available to buy "over the counter" in, Say, Florida or do you know where i could buy them?
I'm really just after anything you might find interesting to UK users.
Thanks. |

I think the behavior of the unit is the same, i.e. turn left in 3/4 of a mile. The road names are not spoken. My previous unit, and old Avstar did have natural language speech for streets, but four year old map info and no display for maps, so this is a good compromise.
I don't think that the maps are available over the counter, and I think you have to buy the whole US. If you are here on holiday, you might find someone to 'lend' you the map whilst you are here.
