Probably not, and I will be crucified for doing this silly question. Basically, what I want to know is if it can be used as a GPS mouse. I don't have a PDA, yet, and till then I would like to use my notebook, and if possible without my BT dongle. I'm still thinking about the Haicom 303MMF+401BT, but it's bigger than the Fortuna.
Thanks. |

nope
you would need a bluetooth dongle for your laptop - the fortuna has no wires coming from it! |

Indeed - the only connectivity to a Clip On is via Bluetooth.
I'm fortunate; my laptop has built in Bluetooth. I seem to have a lot of Bluetooth gear these days - Bluetooth laptop, two Bluetooth Pocket PCs, a Bluetooth mobile phone, Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth GPS, Bluetooth printer (HP DeskJet 450wbt) and a Bluetooth dongle on my workstation PC. I'm thinking about a Stowaway Bluetooth mouse as well.

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking about buying the ipaq 4700 and the Clip-on, like you have. Does it work in VGA mode with TomTom? Is it worthy going to a VGA pda? I'm asking this because the other option would be the qtek 9090, or xDa III in some markets. It ads GSM capability but loses CF and VGA, and I like big resolutions. My 14" laptop is 1400*1050, for example. |

I'm writing at the moment on a 14 inch 1500 by 1050 laptop (Dell Latitude D600)!
TomTom Navigator 3 runs in QVGA mode on a VGA Pocket PC (though TomTom GPS 3.07 runs in VGA mode). TomTom Navigator 2004 HP Edition takes advantage of the VGA resolution - so VGA support is in the "common platform" code.
The next version of TomTom Navigator for the Pocket PC for Europe is expected within the next couple of months. It is almost certainly going to be based on the "common platform" code, so I expect it to have VGA resolution support.
