Can anyone tell me how I go about getting updates for the TeleAtlas software supplied with this Pocket PC GPS. Emails to the so called hotline at Medion remain unanswered and the TeleAtlas web site gave no answers. Hope someone can help.
Thanks |

For the majority of PocketPC GPS solutions there are no map updates as such. Updates are delivered as part of upgrades to the software packages themselves. Teleatlas are the map data providers, they are not the authors of the software that comes with the Medion bundle.
If any upgrades are available to purchase then in the UK, www.medionshop.co.uk is the place to look. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Many Thanks for the prompt resonse.
For some reason the Medion Shop site does not list the MD 95000 amongst its available map data. Looks like I am stuck with a system that will gradually become useless as far as map routes are concerned.

Medion use a cut down version of Navigon software on their budget priced bundles and rebrand it as their own.
If you like the software you can always replace it with the full blown Navigon Mobile Navigator which shares similar interfaces and operation. And of course you can always replace it completely with alternatives from TomTom, CoPilot, Navman etc. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks again, I had not realised that it was possible to use other software.
Of the three you have mentioned TomTom, CoPilot, Navman is there one you would recommend for the Medion MD 95000.
Again, thanks, you have really cheered me up. |

TomTom Navigator. But hold off buying just yet as its due an upgrade and the Trade show CeBit in Hannover is next month. If there is to be an announcement they (TomTom) may make it then. _________________ Darren Griffin |
