My question is simple. When I am using Crux_View on my Ipaq 4705 with my Emtac CruxII BTGPS, I get different fixes (2D, 3D, 3D+DGPS) at different times. Are these the only 3 variables in the "Fix" dialog box of the GPS Status tab? or is there possibly another (3D+WAAS??) or something similar that I have not yet seen? Thanks for the help. |

3D+DGPS means that you have a fix using WAAS.
If you're using the GPS in NMEA mode, there are only three possibilities for the type of fix (I don't think SiRF based GPSes return a 'dead reckoning' value ever). In SiRF binary mode, there are other options.

Thank you, David. I am using it in NMEA mode and haven't fooled around with SiRF mode at all as NMEA works fine and all the articles I've read (plus the advice you've given others) indicate I should leave well enough alone. Regards. |
