Please can anyone tell me the settings to use for TomTom 3. I have the GPS setup in TT3 to NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth......on Bluetooth Serial Port Com 8. I had this gps receiver working ok once but I am not sure if I am using the same settings here. Any help much appreciated.....waited 5 minutes only watching the satellite dish icon sending little black dots to the device. The 12 vertical bars are just empty instead of registering incoming data from satellites. Tried to submit this post in Other Hardware and Accesories but it says page inactive!

Problem sorted.
I tried three NEW AAA batteries but still did't work. Measured the voltages and one was low. Tried another set of batteries and they worked but went flat within minutes. I did't have the problem with rechargeable batteries so I will go back to them

You never actually told us what GPS you had!
GPS receiver is Bluetooth POLSTAR PBT-111 see www.polstargps.com for more info on this product. It has three separate aaa batteries which can be charged outside the unit. I like this idea as I can carry extra recharged batteries in my pocket to have many hours use outside. I use it with my IPAQ 3870 running TomTom 3.
i'm using the pbt-111 with my Acer n30 and it works fine - I connect onto com 6 not com1 - go to the Polstar site and download the PDA gps tester - handy little program that will allow you to scan for the GPS signal and will tell you the com port it is using.
