Can anyone help. I have used USB connection for my cradle and 3970 for 18 months. Suddenly I lose the connection. I have tried soft reset, configuring the connection settngs to usb and checked the cable but to no avail. However, I can connect using COM1 which I can't work out am I missing something in the settings? _________________ Graham |

USB connection to where ? to the PC ? or do you have a USB GPS receiver? In that case, do you have a serial to USB converter cable? _________________ Lutz

I had something similiar after I toyed with Check_Notifications and managed to delete the "wakeup on connection" notification for repllog.exe
Plug in the USB cable, set ActiveSync to USB and then run \windows\repllog.exe on the PocketPC - see if that helps. _________________ Lutz

That would be pretty bad. In this case only a hard reset will help to restore the link (the file itself is in ROM)
Backup the whole Pocket PC, do a hard reset, confirm USB is working, and do a complete restore. _________________ Lutz

Thanks,
I ran the file by using the open path command in windows file explorer. It said 'usb connecting to host' but it still won't connect. Any other suggestions please? _________________ Graham |

Tried reinstalling activesync with all latest updates to 3.8, made sure pda is set to usb, even turned off firewall, no joy. Still keeps saying verify the connection and if I go next does the same again. I can't get com ports now so I am really stuck. Any more suggestions? _________________ Graham |
