I am stuck in Limbo about the idea of changing over from TTNavigator 3 to CO Pilot live 5.
I have read your great review of this product and see the 2 map sources Navteq & Teleatlas as playing a major part in the decision process.
Can you advise me if the CO Pilot source (Navteq) is updated any more regularly than TT(Teleatlas) ? does the software cost any more or less ?

Mike, the map data in CoPilot is much newer than used in TomTom Navigator 3 and TomTom GO. NAVTEQ update their data quarterly where as TeleAtlas is eveyr 6 months.
For instance the NAVTEQ data that CoPilot uses supports the M6 Toll Road, but TTN3 does not (although TomTom GO does support M6 Toll Road, the data is still older than the data CoPilot is using). |

Dave, do you know if that is true for Canadian and US maps as well?
I'm stuck between a Mio 136 (navteq) and a Navman 510 (Teleatlas), the Mio is available at a much more attractive price.. (see below) but the Navman seems to have much more accessory support.

Are either company better/worse at passing on map updates from their supplier to their customers?
Thanks.. |
