Hello,
I've tried to export pushpins from MS Autoroute 2005 to a POI file in Navman SmartST V3 by saving as .axe and creating a csv file in POIConverter 3.09. When I try to load an .axe file into POIConverter 3.09 tool I get the following error:
Running ST2GPX V0.5 utility to extract PushPin data
The ST2GPX utility failed to produce the file st2gpx.tmp
The path to the installation contains no white spaces so that's not the problem. Has anyone else seen this error?
Can anyone give a hint on what causes this problem?

It puts the st2gpx.tmp file in the same directory/folder as the .axe file.
Was this on a floppy with insufficient space, or on a write-protected device? Either would prevent the creation of this file.

I think I put the .axe file in "My Documents". Could the white-space in "My Documents" be the problem? I'll see if ti makes a difference if I put my .axe file in the root or elsewhere... _________________ TomTom GO720T: App ver 8.351(9982/090518), OS:315187, GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5120

Possibly. It's worth a try. |

Did you still have the map file open in AutoRoute? My program will give that error if you did.

It's quite possible that the map file was still open. Will give it a new try over the weekend.
By the way, the importing of Autoroute csv files into SmartST V3 works well. The POIEdit tool in SmartST ignores the fourth column in the Autoroute csv file.
So there's no big need for an update of POIConverter for SmartST. _________________ TomTom GO720T: App ver 8.351(9982/090518), OS:315187, GPS v1.20, Boot 5.5120

It all worked fine after shutting down AutoRoute before starting POIConverter! Thanks for the hints!
Next step will be to see if I can export addresses from Yellow Pages into AutoRoute and then through POIConverter onto SmartST...

Guys,
I've got a similar problem with an autoroute .axe file for some spanish/french campsites - the info on the pushpins is greater than 250 characters long, so the POIconverter throws it out.
Is there nothing that can convert the .axe into excel so that I can edit the entries?
Any help much appreciated

When you say "POIconverter throws it out" do you mean the program fails It should not do so, but it will truncate the text.
If you send the file to me then I can do something about it :D _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405 |
