It is difficult to give step by step instructions if one does not have the hardware on which to try them. I am just an ordinary user with my own TT3 setup and I can only glean information about other systems by watching the forum and reading reviews.

Right, had a look and a bit of a tinker... so this is what I did...
For TTG users
There are two options; the cameras that show the speed limit, or those that just show the presence of a camera. I’ve tried to make the following steps as simple as possible to cover all levels of user / PC familiarity.
If you want the speed limits shown…
1) Download the database to your PC, and unzip it to a folder
2) Look through the files and delete anything that doesn't end in *.ov2 or *.bmp
3) Delete the following files;
4) Disable all speed camera POI's on the TTG (just to be safe).
5) Connect TTG to your PC, and backup your SD card to a folder
6) In the Great Britain folder on the TTG, delete any *.ov2 and *.bmp files that relate to the speed cameras.
7) Copy and paste all the files from the PC that you kept, and put them into the Great Britain folder.
8) Disconnect TTG from the PC.
9) Remove the SD card, replace and turn on.
10) Enable the warnings on the POI’s
If you DON’T want the speed limits shown…
1) Download the database to your PC, and unzip it to a folder
2) Look through the files and delete anything that doesn't end in *.ov2 or *.bmp
3) Delete the following files;
4) Disable all speed camera POI's on the TTG (just to be safe).
5) Connect TTG to your PC, and backup your SD card to a folder
6) In the Great Britain folder on the TTG, delete any *.ov2 and *.bmp files that relate to the speed cameras.
7) Copy and paste all the files from the PC that you kept, and put them into the Great Britain folder.
8) Disconnect TTG from the PC.
9) Remove the SD card, replace and turn on.
10) Enable the warnings on the POI’s
… it just depends on how you want it shown on the TTG…!
Disclaimer type thing
You do the above at your own risk, and I accept no responsibility for loss of POI’s, or you losing data on your PC, or damage to the PC / TTG etc etc… in other words, it worked for me, but do it at your own risk.
I am not very good when it comes to moving files from one item to another, but up until now have been able to do so with ease, but am a little confused now, with which files to move over and which not. I for one realy appretiate this data base, as I do over 2000 miles aweek on the UK roads, and like most here, like to know if I am going to encounter one of these lovely devices. The work put in here with this database, should get allot of praise, and I hope the good work continues. Still not too sure which files to copy over, but have the December database in the Ipaq at the moment, and when I get more time, will study which files to move over.

If you’re in the UK (please update your profile with your location ;)) then you will probably need the following DBs (.OV2 files):
If you’re going to drive mainland Europe then you may want to consider the following:
PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL.ov2
You will also need the DB’s respective Icon file, which is the same name as the .OV2 file but with a .BMP extension, i.e.:
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO.ov2
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO.BMP
This new camera database has introduced split databases that group cameras by their speed limit e.g.:
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO_30.ov2
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO_30.BMP
You decide which database (and icon file) that you want to run and then load them into your system.

Hi,
Firstly thanks to Oldie for all the effort. Also worth mentioning that the cams can only be put in groups in the first place if YOU let oldie know the limits for TBA ( to be arranged) cams so please get emailing.
The BMP for the pocketgps mobile cams is the same for all the speed limits and as the TTGO dosnt have changable voice warnings its pointless puting them in seperate groups with the bitmaps as they are . I have made some new bitmaps in paint that are the same as gatso BMPs but they say MOB under the speed sign. I have loaded them into the TTGO and they seem to work fine.
I am no expert with paint and I noticed that by adding text to the gatso ones the file size has doubled ( not sure if this is a problem, but they do work ok on mine)and Im sure someone more creative could make a better icon. If anyone wants a copy email me at bestyman at yahoo . co . uk and I will gladly share them ( at own risk) .
To all the newbies out there sorry for confusing things even more. To simplify things just update the uk mobile cams as usual and don`t split into groups. The Uk gatso file and bitmaps work great so worth updating into seperate groups.
Worth a mention that you may have to delete some other POIs to make room for the new ones.
Now I need some help please, I once read that it was possible somehow to add custom POI warning files to the TTGO ( with a lot of effort ) , can anyone tell me how?

p.s I have noticed that the mobile 40mph cam at york road ,leeds is not on the new list but was on the old. Am I doing something wrong Oldie???
Some of the camera's on my TTG map have "Gatso443@60" - i take it the @60 is the speed limit of the camera? but then into leicester, most of them do not have the "@40" etc?? (have i done it right?)
Also a camera by me is 40mph and TTG displays it at 60??

No, all you need to do is to select the files with the extensions of .OV2 and .BMP of the databases you want, and copy them to your map folder. Fully shutdown and restart TomTom and you should be OK.
