|
|
Hi,
I recently bought a Navman PIN (mio 168) which was bundled with a PQI 256MB SD card. I would like to upgrade to a 1GB card but I don't know if there are any known issues with incompatibiltiy with certain brands or speed requirements.
1) Will any 1GB SD card work (Lexar, SanDisk, PQI, etc) or are there data transfer rate requirements that would require me to buy one of the "high speed" cards?
2) Would a "high speed" card provide any noticable change in performance?
Thanks in advance! |

Hello KwajGuy
I use a 1GB Lexar SD Card in my Medion 95000 (mio168) without any problems.
I think that generally all of the known branded cards should work ok with most systems so long as people do not try to use to larger size.
Mitac who produce the mio168 series recommend not larger than 2GB for the mio168. |

I use a 1gb SanDisk on my medion95000. The serial No. on the back is BB0410WW. It works fine.
It only cost me about £55 from Aria, I may have been lucky though as it was advertised as an Aria own brand. |

i have a 1gb high speed card in my mitac mio 168 and it works a treat. the high speed card certainly makes a difference as i tried another card whilst using tom tom navigator and noticed the map was slightly slower than normal. _________________ Mitac Mio 168

Thanks to everyone for the great feedback!
It looks like nobody has encountered any problems with any of the mentioned SD cards, so I'll keep an eye out for the best deal.
Thank you again! |
