|
|
We had numerous requests to make the TomTom Navigator 3.07 CAB files available on our site. (CAB files can be installed directly on the Pocket PC)
So, here they are: http://www.pocketgpspoi.com/ttn307cabs/
We also threw in the TomTom GPS 2.07 CAB files - our recommended version of the GPS driver for those who want to use their GPS with other programs, too (Certain TomTom GPS drivers block the access to the GPS for other programs).
Enjoy!
N.B> The files are zipped to conserve bandwidth. Unzip them before you transfer them to your Pocket PC _________________ Lutz

Lutz - sorry to sound stupid,
but what are these CAB files?
what are they for?
why would I need them?
then I can decide if I should download them.
Many thanks. _________________ TomTon One (v2) Europe (with a back up Ipaq 2210 -TT5 (upgraded from 3) & TT BT reciever with fixed TT Car Kit - just in case!) |

The TomTom Navigator Update 3.07 that is available on the TomTom site forces install not only of the Navigator but also of the TomTom GPS 3.07 .
We do not recommend installation of GPS 3.07 - we recommend 2.07 instead. This gives much less issues when you want to use your Pocket PC with other GPS applications and you use a BlueTooth receiver. (Certain TomTom GPS versions are blocking access tot he BT Receiver for other programs)
You can copy the CAB files to your Pocket PC and then tap them in the Pocket File Explorer. This will install the program directly on the Pocket PC - without the need for a ActiveSync connection .
You can also store these CAB files on your storage card for the case when your Pocket PC runs out of power while you are on the road. You can quickly reinstall TomTom Navigator and the GPS driver, and continue to navigate. _________________ Lutz

Hi,
I am having problems installing TTN3 on a Mitec 168.
I had a look at the cab file link mentioned here, but can't see which one I need, what are ARM MIPS etc???
Which should I choose?

Hello All,
The CAB file install is a great idea; I may not use my pocket pc for a while only to find that it’s run flat and lost its memory.
Although If you put the CAB files on your memory card, You always have a means of putting the program back on and its way more convenient than having to use your pc (I have a few issues with Bluetooth when using the Ipaq backup program)
It's also a good idea to take the voice CAB files from your Tom tom install CD and don’t forget a word doc with your activation code on it!
Cheers
Chris
Ps Another tip would be to make a POI out of your favourites, that way you'll retain all your info in the event of a crash etc. |

Thanks I have downloaded them and it would appear that I may have TTN3 on my Mitec, at last.
I am now copying the maps, and will then be able to see if it all works
Leigh
PS There will probably be more questions later!!! |

Excellent idea.
The CAB files are very useful for those of us who prefer to use Apple computers. |

I guess I need the ARM file for my ipaq2210?
Anyway I just got it back from repair and thought I would give this a go, so I copied the .cab files and installed it and started the application, but it says it can't find the maps.. even though they are right there on the storage card! It doesn't give a way to specify where the maps are either.
Any ideas? |

either remove the storage card, run the program, and re-insert it and run the program again (forcing a rescan) or use a registry editor to help TTN find the map location _________________ Lutz

easy, easy... you do always need the activation key, no matter if you use CABs or standard Installs. As a matter of fact these CAB files come from the same TTN307upd.exe that y'all have been using before for installation.
Use a different storage card with different maps, or use a registry editor to point TomTom to the right folder. _________________ Lutz

Hi,
My first post, so be gentle with me.
I have a Mio 168 with tomtom v3.02 and have it linked to my Mac (OS X) via PocketMac Pro.
I have downloaded the ARM CAB files and have them on screen, but am not sure where to put them in my Mio directory for them to take effect..
I figure its just a case of bunging them in the correct directory and then reboot the Mio.
Can someone point me in the right direction.
Oh PS, The PocketMac Pro software is excellent.
Thanks,
Mark. |
