I have an Ipaq 3870 with Pocket PC 2002 and I have been running with Kane Car Pilot/Destinator with RGM2000 without any problems. I recently got Tom Tom Navigator 3 as Kane seems to have disappeared and I cannot get it to see the GPS. I can switch between Kane and Tom Tom to prove that the GPS is working, but I get nothing in Tom Tom.
The setting in Tom Tom are NMEA 0183v2 4800 on Serial Cable on COM1.
In the status screen there is nothing. I have uninstalled Tom Tom and reinstalled (although I didn't need to enter the activation code again).
What do I need to do?
Thanks,
Dave |

THere is a faint chance that Kane was using the RGM in SiRF mode, or that it has changed the speed. Can you access it with Crux_View? _________________ Lutz

Yes, it is using it in SiRF 38400 (which was apparent when looking in the settings of Kane). Reset Tom Tom to SiRF 38400 and it appears to be working.
Thanks,

Good. Just a general note - if you want to avoid this kind of problems in the future, set the receiver back to NMEA 4800. Takes the guesswork out... _________________ Lutz

Cheers - that's just got me up and running again with my Royaltek Sapphire, TomTom 3, and Medion MD40600. Thanks. |
