|
|
Hi - I have recently added GPS / MMap to my serial gadget collecting and was having a look at the GPS Mount Reviews here at GPS World when I spotted TheClip which appears to answer my prayers (?)
I need a mount which mainly will take my mobile phone but when I occasionally use it in the car will also taken my Ipaq (2210)
If I buy TheClip with an extra fitting - stick on pad I believe? - will I be able to swap them around or will this not work (or is there a better solution ?)
Very helpful friendly forum btw ... Paul ;) |

Hi Paul,
I use Brodit mounts in my vehicle. There are three parts, which allow me to swap holders:
ProClip – this is a fixture to your car’s dashboard
Move Clip (213005) – this allows you to swap holders that are attached to the ProClip
Holder – this holds (and can also power) your unit.
However there is nothing stopping you from finding your own best solution by mix-and-match.

PaulBoy,
You may also want to check out the Seidio G2500 automotive PDA mount kit. It's a bit pricy; but good value (on sale now at $69.95). It has an enclosed speaker and connections allowing you to simultaneously charge your PDA and receiver through the cigar lighter. The kit also contains a smaller vent mount as well as the goose-neck, suction cup mount. |

Rubberman & Privateer ... Thanks for the input I will check those out - do either of them allow you to mount a phone or a PDA in the same mount which it appears the ClipOn allows you to ? That is the most important functionalitiy (is this a word?) of whatever I choose as I mainly would have my phone in it but occasionally would want to mount my Ipaq in it
TIA ... Paul ;) |

If you use the Brodit system then the 'Move' clip allows you to remove cradles from the vehicle ProClip quickly and simply. You could then attach or remove the Phone/PDA Cradle as necessary. _________________ Darren Griffin |
