|
|
I'm new to PDAs - Christmas present. I've got an IPAQ 3715 with Tom Tom & CheckPOInt running fine. I've downoaded and installed ukpostcode which runs fine when I launch it from the SD card.
But when I try it from the shortcut, it seems to launch Ok until I enter a postcode and then I get the following message: "installation error - ukpostcode.dat not found in .exe folder"
.dat and .exe are both in the folder called "ukpostcode" in the Sd card
can anybody help? |

It sounds like you have not created a shortcut but have instead copied the .exe file. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks Darren
I repeated my steps to create a Shortcut but now I think the problem is that I craeted it using a PC, not the PDA.
Could you possibly tell me how to create a shortcut ?
Apologies for seeming thick - on PCs I'm pretty good but this seems a whole new world.

You can do this using a PC. Dock the PDA and using Active Sync explore the device. Locate the UKPostCode.exe file, right click and select 'create shortcut'. Then copy this shortcut to the Windows | Start Menu | Programs folder on the PDA. _________________ Darren Griffin |
